Well I guess this article helps explain a lot about why the current selection on Netflix is well…crap.

So I deleted a ton of things I will never watch to add a bunch of things that I hope I will watch and soon. At the top of the list is The Gospel According to Phillip K. Dick. I saw that and jumped on adding it to the top. Dick is responsible for some of my favorite short stories and novels and movies (Blade Runner, Minority Report, Total Recall). So if my brain can handle staying awake tonight this is what I will be watching.
Also..is it my imagination or has the availability of good movies to watch on Netflix just dropped off drastically.?
Fucket Movies will now be Highfalutin Movies….
On Google+ today Chris Porter asked the question “Would you pay a monthly subscription to watch as many movies in the theater as you want?” with a link to this article http://gigaom.com/video/moviepass-take-two/. The answers were varied…but for me it seems to have struck a note somewhere in me and I can’t stop thinking about it.
As many of you know, I am a gadget queen. My family can attest to this. I want what is out and new and am constantly saving my pennies to buy the next great thing. It is an obsession. iPods and iPads, android phone, mobile internet…the list goes on.
But when it comes to my favorite things in life…movies, books and music…I go old school and have no interest in going any other way. I want my movies on a big screen. Watching from about 10 rows down from the top. In a theater that smells of popcorn and butter and listening to other movie goers gasp and laugh, cry or scream. I want to physically turn the pages in a book. Smell the paper. Walk through a bookstore. I want to go to live shows and flip through old records.
What are we giving up for convenience? What experiences that we had will our children or grandchildren never have? At 18 months old my granddaughter Emily can work an iPad and Ipod like a pro…but will she ever know what it is like to flip through a toy store Christmas catalog and have fun circling the things she hopes Santa will bring?

The important thing is the rhythm. Always have rhythm in your shaking. Now a Manhattan you shake to fox-trot time, a Bronx to two-step time, a dry martini you always shake to waltz time. —Nick Charles (The Thin Man)
So Johnny Depp is going to try and take on William Powell….I love the man..but How do you even come close to thinking that The Thin Man should be remade? I mean we are talking about the best on screen duo of William Powell and Myrna Loy. Depp may make a great Nick…but I think I am more worried about the chemistry between Nick and Nora…Can anyone duplicate what Powell and Loy had on screen? That will make the difference in this movie being a hit or a flop.
So thinking about bringing the old Fucket Movies back…..
Question is should I continue doing all movies or start a new blog that encompasses it all…books, movies, and music…
thoughts?
Also…anyone using Google+ Feel free to add me there or if you need an invite go ahead and ask! Only caveat is you have to give me your opinion on the above question as well :-)

Sorry for the lack of posting recently. Been busy! Hopefully I can pick back up here soon. I have postponed the January favorite movies and am hoping to do February Love Flicks! May throw a few of my favorite (non-love story movies) in there if time permits!
